The document includes the following key bills:

  • A10524A (Lunsford)/S9537 (Baskin) – Precludes factors from being used to influence the rate-setting process, and establishes a website for policyholders to view and submit feedback regarding proposed rate increases. NYIA strongly opposes.
    • The bill was already introduced in the Assembly but now has a Senate companion.
  • S9533 (Skoufis) – Relates to permitting a plaintiff to recover directly against a third party defendant found to be liable in certain actions. NYIA strongly opposes.
  • A10732 (Hevesi) – Prohibits insurers from using violations issued by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services as the sole basis for rate adjustments for child care providers. NYIA is seeking member feedback.
