NAIC Releases Deadline for Homeowners Market Data Call

As mentioned on the last bi-weekly call, NAIC issued a data call regarding homeowners insurance. The data call covers policy years 2018–2025 and will request information from insurance companies writing at least $50,000 in relevant premiums. Companies were notified on March 25 about the call, and the data from companies is due on June 15, 2026. NYIA understands that this is not the annual market data call, and it is far more extensive and requires information from 2018. We have heard from several members with concerns. NYIA has inquired with DFS about the data call and asked for any insights that can be shared, including if this now negates DFS’s regular data call in relation to homeowners.

DFS Annual Cybersecurity Compliance Notifications Due April 15

As a reminder, Covered Entities are required to submit notifications by April 15 each year regarding their compliance with Part 500 during the prior calendar year, pursuant to Section 500.17(b). Covered Entities that do not qualify for a full exemption must submit either a Certification of Material Compliance or an Acknowledgment of Noncompliance. To assist Covered Entities in completing their filings, DFS has provided additional guidance on submitting Annual Compliance Notifications, including updated PDF instructions and a new video outlining the process, on the Submit a Compliance Filing section of the Cybersecurity Resource Center. The new video is now available.

WCB Issues New RFA-2 eForm

The technical issues affecting the Request for Further Action by Insurer/Employer (RFA-2) eForm have been fully resolved and the new RFA-2 eForm became available within eCase effective last Friday, April 3, 2026. The WCB will not accept or act on paper RFA-2 forms post marked after this date. If you have any questions, please contact eforms@wcb.ny.gov.
