Legislative Introduction Bulletin 01.16.26 contains bills of interest that have been added to NYIA's tracking list between January 5, 2026 and January 16, 2026. The document includes the following key bills, which are all chapter amendments on bills that were signed into law last year:

  • A9461 (Hunter)/S8824 (Fahy) - Enacts chapter amendments to clarify standards for glass repair and calibration of advanced driver assistance systems.
  • A9508 (Weprin)/S8786 (Skoufis) - Enacts chapter amendments relating to the kinds of insurance with respect to which a rental vehicle company or peer-to-peer car sharing program administrator may act as an agent for an authorized insurer.   
  • A9504 (Glick)/S8832 (Kavanagh) - Enacts chapter amendments relating to rechargeable battery recycling.
  • A9442 (Magnarelli)/S8808 (Cooney) - Enacts chapter amendments relating to litigation funding.  
  • A9444(Lasher)/S8811 (Comrie) - Enacts chapter amendments relating to unfair, deceptive, and abusive business practices (UDAAP).
  • A9449 (Bores)/S8828 (Gounardes) - Enacts chapter amendments relating to transparency and safety requirements for developers of AI models.
  • A9502 (Lunsford)/S8809 (Addabbo) - Enacts chapter amendments relating to timeframes for certain court filings.
