Michael Sevi
General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer
Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC
Michael Sevi is the general counsel and chief compliance officer of Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Sevi joined Marsh & McLennan in 2014 as a senior compliance officer for Marsh. Since then, he has served in roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as chief Compliance officer of Guy Carpenter and deputy chief compliance officer of Marsh & McLennan. Before joining Marsh & McLennan, he was a litigator at Hogan Lovells and DLA Piper. Sevi also worked as the director of cabinet affairs for Governor Rick Scott of Florida, serving as the Governor’s senior policy adviser on insurance, financial regulation, and taxation. Sevi graduated from Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School

Christopher Shafer
Vice President
Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC
Christopher Shafer is a vice president at Guy Carpenter & Company LLC as well as a treaty broker within the Guy Carpenter Cyber Center of Excellence. Shafer works closely with clients in support of their reinsurance needs and also manages cyber model vendor relationships. He joined Guy Carpenter in 2013 with the actuarial department, leading Guy Carpenter’s cyber analytics for five years prior to becoming a broker. Prior to working with Guy Carpenter, Shafer spent three years underwriting Employer Stop Loss reinsurance for Munich Re Stop Loss. He holds a Master of Professional Studies in cybersecurity and information assurance from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and economics from Lafayette College. Shafer has also earned the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation.

Jay Woods
Co-Chairman, Regional/ Mutual Company Segment and Managing Director
Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC
Jay Woods is co-chairman of the regional/mutual company segment and a managing director at Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC Woods joined Guy Carpenter in September 2013. In this capacity, Woods is responsible for co-leading the segment, setting the strategic direction, overseeing client relationship management and new business production. From 2005 to 2013, he was with the reinsurance business of Towers Perrin, which became Towers Watson. During his tenure, he held various management positions including participation on the global Brokerage Operations Council, the Management Committee of the London Broking company and oversaw the North American Reinsurance and Property and Casualty Insurance Brokerage Operations. Woods began his career as a reinsurance intermediary in 1981 at John P. Woods Co., Inc., where he held roles in accounting, client servicing and production. He was a board member and president when the company sold to Arthur J. Gallagher in the summer of 2000, where he managed the North American treaty reinsurance operations. Woods graduated from Hamilton College and the executive management program, Owners, Presidents and Managers (OPM) at Harvard University. He received insurance training at the College of Insurance, Travelers Insurance Company, Royal Insurance Company, Lloyds of London and Chubb and Son, Inc.

Thomas Spataro is a senior vice president of the Mutual Company Specialty Practice for Guy Carpenter, LLC. Spataro joined Guy Carpenter in April 1999. He serves as a treaty broker responsible for client relationship management and new business production. He began his career working in the direct insurance production, field training and eventually national sales training departments at Metropolitan P&C Insurance. He later held the position of personal lines sales manager at a large insurance agency in the Capital District of New York. In July 1992, he began his reinsurance career with Guilderland Reinsurance Company where he held various positions before being promoted to vice president. Spataro is a 1987 graduate of Siena College with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management, he has also earned the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation
