Prior to the pandemic the insurance industry had been steadily incorporating technological advancements into their daily operations. Almost overnight the industry has had to turn up the volume and become fully digital to meet the unique and growing needs of their policyholders. This presentation aims to examine the changing landscape of insurance and provide the possible implications of the technology being employed in underwriting, claims, servicing and policy administration as well as marketing, sales and distribution.

Jonathan Kalman is a Founding General Partner of Eos Venture Partners (Eos), a Strategic InsurTech Venture Capital firm. Eos is lead or co-lead investor in Series A and Series B equity funding rounds and focuses on new business models and new technologies that will impact and transform the insurance industry. Kalman currently serves as a board member of many insurance initiatives and companies including The Institutes’ RiskStream Collaborative, Buckle, Inc., Player’s Health, Inc., Concirrus, Ltd and Westhill Global, Inc. Kalman also is a seed investor in RightIndem, Ltd.

Previously, Kalman was chairman and CEO of Jaguar Capital Partners and prior to that chairman and CEO of Katalyst Venture.

Kalman has had many notable exits, including ERisk, a spinout from Oliver Wyman, a division of MMC, acquired by SunGard; blockchain provider INVeSHARE acquired by Broadridge Financial Group; Enerwise, acquired by ComVerge; and several IPO’s including Breakaway Solutions, Jaguar Acquisition Corporation: China Cablecom Ltd. and Internet Capital Group, now Actua.
