Here and Now: Modern Data Analytics Speakers

Kevin Finn is the president and CEO of Mutual Capital Analytics, a company that was formed in November 2019.  MCA partners with Mutual P&C insurance companies to find innovative, yet practical, approaches to utilizing their data in order to serve their customers better and improve business performance.

Finn is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Prior to forming MCA, Finn worked at The Hartford for 14 years in a variety of P/L leadership roles.  Throughout his tenure, he ran businesses as diverse as National Accounts, Captives, Programs and E&S.  He spent the last six years with The Hartford leading the Small Commercial Product Management organization that was accountable for profitably growing the business from $3.2B to $3.7B during his tenure.

 

Kenneth P. Carter is the vice president of claim operations at Merchants Insurance Group, headquartered in Buffalo, NY. Carter has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, beginning as a claims adjuster trainee and moving into a variety of claim professional and management roles for a large national insurer before joining Merchants as litigation manager in 2000, and serving as senior corporate casualty manager before his present appointment.

He graduated from the University of Rochester with bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and cognitive science, and from Medaille College with a Master of Arts degree in organizational leadership. He holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, and is actively involved in several insurance, claims and legal professional organizations, often assuming board positions, teaching continuing education courses, and authoring articles for industry publications. Carter is an adjunct professor of management and organizational leadership at Medaille College and a board member on the college’s leadership counsel.
