Our Mission:
To influence the legislative and regulatory environment.
What is
a Political Action Committee (PAC)?
A PAC is a committee of like-minded individuals that raises money to
support candidates for office or to influence legislation. Nearly every
industry has some form of state and/or federal PAC. NYIA works
with elected officials on a regular basis to elevate their understanding
of the insurance industry, issues facing insurers in New York, and how
their decisions impact the business of insurance. With the unified voice
of its members, NYIA serves as both a resource and an influential authority
on insurance issues in New York State.
Why should you participate in the NYIA PAC?
PACs have proven to be ap effective tool in the public policymaking
arena. They provide opportunities for influence and access to key lawmakers.
Simply stated, larger PACs provide greater opportunities for members
to be seen and heard with respect to their issues and to influence public
policy outcomes. Each pledge of support from every member is vital to
our efforts to shape the debate on important insurance issues. Political
decisions can directly impact your organization's ability to achieve
its business objectives and your bottom line. The success of your organization
depends on its ability to mount an effective lobby for change. Our success
will be impacted and measured by the level of our commitment. All PAC
contributions are voluntary. Your participation will go a long way toward
securing an even stronger voice in the future of this industry.
